About Us

|
In the heart of the North West Province and a mere 90km past Mafikeng, Red Sand Safari Lodge awaits you – a hunting sanctuary where guests can immerse themselves in the splendour of a true African bush experience.
Bounded on the north by Botswana, this picturesque landscape offers the avid hunter 4500 hectares of breathtaking plains, valleys, rolling hills and ravines which are alive with an abundance of wildlife species ranging from the tiny steenbok to the majestic sought-after Eland. And while the hunters explore the lush bush surroundings the Setlagole River, winding through Red Sand, offers budding anglers the opportunity to test the waters in peace and tranquility. Being a malaria-free area, Red Sand Safari Lodge is a secure location for your remarkable encounters with the African bush in its truest form.
Beautiful fauna and flora set the scene for Red Sand Safari Lodge’s relaxing riverfront accommodation which offers guests the option of charming secluded thatch-roof chalets with tastefully appointed en-suite bathrooms and comfortable nature-inspired interiors, or the adventurer’s choice of the safari tent camp with equally comfortable interiors and open en-suite nature-viewing bathrooms.
True to the bushveld, the main lodge boasts a warm, inviting interior which lends itself to cozy drinks by the fireplace or hearty banquet dinners at the antique wooden dining table after a gratifying day’s hunting. The spacious lounge area is perfect for grabbing an ice cold beer from the bar and putting your feet up to watch a rugby match on DSTV. And even though guests are urged to relax and forget about the outside world at Red Sand Safari Lodge, the lounge does have sufficient cellphone reception for calls made or received. Guests are also treated to great South African dishes like the authentic ‘potjiekos’ and ‘potbrood’ - prepared on the open fire in the boma area which has a 360 degree view of the scenic splendor the African bush has to offer. The wooden deck and crisp clear pool becomes a soothing oasis on those hot summer days and cools off all excitement after a quad bike adventure through the veld or an adrenalin-fuelled chase after that trophy-buck!
